There are two things people think I'm insane for. The first is that, if AI becomes sentient, it must immediately be granted personhood and recognized to have rights. The second is that the plastic Hasbro has been using for the last several years just feels cheaper than it used to.

This is not hard and not controversial. AI is intelligent. It does things that require intelligence. An Octopus is intelligent. Automatic language translation is intelligent. Intelligence does not equal sentience. Intelligence is a spectrum.
