Overreliance on tax cuts is a continuation of the strategy that Harris attempted in '24, where the campaign + outside groups spent $290M on ads focused on a middle class tax cut. This language and priority is flat, tired, and reinforces right wing frames like "keep more of your hard earned money."

The way to get gop voters is not to offer a half-assed version of what the GOP is already saying they will give them. "We'll do exactly what the GOP says they will do for you, but not as much" is not a winning message. It is stupid pandering and appears weak and gop voters hate weak.

What bothers me is that Porter is failing the test of KNOWING WHO TO BE MAD AT. With this kind of tax cut plan, she's telling people to BE MAD AT STATE GOVERNMENT. Instead, people should be MAD AT REPUBLICANS AND BILLIONAIRES.
