beyond not understanding that you retain a benefit — growing equity — that justifies continued taxation, what is happening is that these people don’t understand that their mortgage payment included a property tax payment that went into escrow. that, and simple selfishness, is what’s happening here.

let them keep their property taxes fence it off, add a toll gate at the end of the driveway to the public taxes paid for road lots of folks out of work; hell, i'll man a toll both outside their house for the fed minimum wage & a tv to watch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
