I mean, if my kid wanted to go by a different name and pronouns but only did so at school bc he didn’t feel safe telling us, I’d see that as a problem with my parenting, not with the school

I haven't really checked out any of those "Adults are cutting off their parents" articles. Do any of them list facebook sending push notifications about their most unhindged posts to their children as a contributing factor? That facebook is actively trying to destroy your family for ad revenue?

I'm very lucky that my father-in-law has a reasonable amount of respect for me for being a good husband to his child. If I can cash in a couple chips to make him 5% less likely to say something out of pocket at the next holiday gathering, by god, I'm doing it.
