I'm reviewing some proposals for a non-US program, and the funding agency has wisely banned the upload of the proposals to LLMs for "help with reviews". Worth pointing out that the timescale of LLM development is quite a bit shorter than of proposal reviews (NSF is about a year these days)...

...and if the experience of our colleagues in mathematics is any guide, reviewers uploading cutting edge ideas to Claude to "get a summary" or whatever is just providing training data that will be available shortly to others. This is a clear cut violation of the scientific culture of peer review.
