this is another example of what I'm talking about! memory issues, even when they're relatively minor in the GRAND scheme of things, can be so debilitating in ways most people cannot empathize with. it's like a constant low-key confusion/fuzziness that is exacerbated by new places and situations

One of them literally tried to have a “house meeting” about how my fatigue and memory loss were inconvenient for THEM because they thought getting a new disabled roommate meant having a live-in maid…or a slave…
Show PostI have been forced out of 3 different roommate situations since my TBI because of this exact phenomenon. Patting me on the back and telling me to count to ten isn’t going to make me not have brain damage or the symptoms thereof, but being a less shitty roommate would have helped in all cases
