Just a small correction...the game takes place over 4 months. At that point Astarion would've been gone for 2 to 3 months. If Astarion is in a relationship with the PC he is pretty damn faithful, so I don't think he is secretly going out of his way to cheat on them. So it is Petras doing it.

There is the implication in the game that Cazador instructs his spawn to sleep with their marks because the endorphins released post sex makes their blood taste better, as well as having a set of instructions laid out for all the spawn to follow. In fact Petras tries the same with the PC.

Not to mention towards the end he ends up going out with Aurelia to club people and bring back to make himself feel better, so clearly Aurelia’s approach was also in his wheelhouse. We know he has no aversion to violence; and frankly I’d argue Astarion in the game relishes violence more than sex

if I didn’t know him from the game I would think he’s a sex predator. which like, I’m not against the idea of a victim becoming a predator, but Astarion was never meant to be a sex predator. Yes he puts on a mask at the beginning for an end goal but it’s clear that he resents himself for that
