There are roughly 3100 men over the age of 100 in the UK. Anyone younger is too young to be a WWII veteran. Can we stop pretending there is this vast cohort of WWII heroes who are disappointed we are not following the Nazi example. It is wrong on all levels.

I’m 82 and didn’t live through war, so ones who did have to be quite a bit older. I was born near the end of the war, it wasn’t a delight, but it didn’t turn us into bigots.
