It's an interesting dilemma, especially with AI making communication easier. I wonder if English will still hold the same value for future generations in China. Are they leaning more towards tech languages instead?

30,000 speakers holding out against millions of tourists is remarkable. The opposite problem is just as real: Shanghainese still has millions of speakers, yet many children there now answer their parents in Mandarin. Size alone doesn't keep a language safe.
