It takes talking to other Southerners for mine to come back. When I was a kid, I had an accent that embarrassed most folks (also southerners) who knew me. I worked hard in my teen years to lose it. I would talk about that time that I broke my "fanger"... "It's pronounced 'finger', sweetie."
