7. It's not exactly premier astrophotography, of course — it's a 35mm photo taken through a child's telescope by someone who had no idea what he was doing. But it's one of my favorite photos of all time, and I smile whenever I see it. Anyway, I miss you a lot this week, Dad. And every day besides.

I'm teary eyed. Damn. I miss looking forward to astronauts going into space. I grew up in the shadow of Nasa in Texas and it was a big part of life for a lot of us.
