Gonna shout out the return of @thegreatalbums.bsky.social one of my favorite podcasts! Very impactful on my musical taste around ages 17-21, and it's not a coincidence that there's some artist overlap between my music related videos and their early eps (Wrens, Regina Spektor). Highly recommend them!

Some works like Mob Psycho or even HxH challenge action shonen's tendency of making children risk their lives for supposedly greater causes from a thematic angle. Yomi no Tsugai does it pragmatically: dude our illegal adopted child can't get hurt without health insurance or else WE die

When someone explained the plot of Re:Zero to me I went "So they just kill the guy & do story resets every week based on how well the recent manga chapter does? That's pretty clever." but no, apparently it's based on a light novel. Incredibly missed opportunity for a choose your own adventure manga.

I went to film school and did several papers analyzing film and film theory and this is still, in my opinion, my most effective piece of film analysis
