Quite simply one of the maddest biographies I’ve read in many years. Matthew Sweet’s prose is like a man talking someone down off a ledge.

Any recommendations of historical fiction based in the UK? Maybe a lesser known writer who deserves more followers? In my experience these are the types of writers you get in independent bookshops and it’s good to have a rummage 😁
