I am much more sympathetic to AI than the median Bluesky user, but when we talk about how AI has the worst possible PR and how that’s one of the big reasons people hate it… hard to think of a better recent example than this!

the other thing is that conservatives resolutely do not see the purpose of education as providing social mobility but as reifying and deepening existing inequalities of status. they are as hostile to low income students getting admission to elite institutions as they are black ones.
