I do fully remember that column and my mom and I were EXTREMELY indignant. We were huge fans of his Ten Commandments (because it’s SILLY) and immediately lost all respect for him. And then I learned about the whole NRA of it all and whoops Charlton WHO?? Never heard of him.

Look the autism was always there, I just didn’t know yet. (Ann Landers in particular was my guiding light. I genuinely thought I was learning how to human through her column. It’s been a wild journey.)
