Personal comments are always uncalled for, but History for Atheists is a great, well researched & sourced site. The guy knows his stuff, as attested by the many experts in the field of early Christianity who refer to his writing. Historians of early Christianity don't see it as an economic vehicle.

It's like being at a table & two people are having a venomous argument while addressing others at the table, but not each other. It's a detailed review in fairness, & he cites many women whose work he admires - so I don't think it's misogyny. I reckon, rightly or wrongly, he just doesn't rate it.
