If people are going to urge the country to embrace democratic socialism, I'd really like to "quibble" over what they mean by that. "It's whatever Zohran Mamdani decides to do tomorrow" might be great for landing internet dunks but isn't a very useful definition for actual policymakers.

Part of why I have complicated thoughts about these subjects that do not align with the online consensus that so many on here have so transparently absorbed is that I have spent much of my life dealing with them offline, and I know how much different reality looks than the internet.
