Very helpful; thank you! (I couldn't find a reactions section on the blog page.) I wonder if the UPDATE user_events SET id_new = id WHERE id_new IS NULL; is needed, as we just before did: ALTER TABLE user_events ALTER COLUMN id_new SET NOT NULL; Cheers
