Trump voters in Maryland aren’t really “his people,” though, because they didn’t get him anything. He wanted Maryland’s electoral votes, and they didn’t deliver. Instead, they saw him lying about and hindering disaster response with 2024 floods in (reddish state!) North Carolina, and voted for it.
Show PostI’m a big “we’re all in this together” person. I want disaster relief going anywhere in the country that faces a disaster, no matter how anyone there voted. I don’t think “how’d they vote” is a relevant question. But I and anyone who agrees on that got outvoted. Disaster response was on the ballot.

Just want everyone to know that one transphobic and fearmongering statement on the USDA website does not mean that the government shutdown is about healthcare for trans people. It's about healthcare for everyone on ACA subsidies and it's irresponsible to act like the CR has any gender care ban.
