It breaks my heart seeing Black authors that were promised the world in the wake of BLM, but received less than bare minimum. Stories about real systemic racism being passed over for fantasy racism bc it doesn't fit "the brand". All those words for what was basically "Sorry you feel that way. Bye"

Ms. Bethany, it’s wrenching to read this, and how you’ve kept trying to have support. I ordered Poisons—listed as backorder, with some others, from Bookshop 9/24. On 10/4, they said it was ready to ship. I received it today. Will donate to my library’s reading rewards program after reading it!

like at what point is spinning vague bullshit and pointing to non-sequiters MORE work than actually reading the fucking How To guide on how to fix this right in front of them. god forbid a bookselling company wants to actually sell books
Show Postreading thru this is so insane. u give them such a clear, well-written detailed outline of all the steps that need to be taken. then when they can't brush u off they pull the bare fucking minimum outta their ass.
