Anyways, this article is extremely upsetting—but also very important. We cannot allow this cruelty—this deprivation—to go unchallenged. Torturing people who have no homes is not a policy to address homelessness or “public safety”. The City of Victoria has some explaining to do.

“Through this investigation, De Facto documented two tents and a cart taken by bylaw officers within days of being donated. Were they then impounded for 14 days, to be collected by their owners? Based on our investigation, no. All three items ended up directly in the Hartland Landfill in Saanich”
