Not sure what lesson to take from this. In 1942 Britain was still reeling from the loss of Hong Kong & Singapore. Rommel was advancing on Egypt, & German armies pouring towards Stalingrad. Trying not to actually lose the war was the best we could do.

I am obviously bias but I genuinely believe the new skateboarding/snowboarding olympic events embody the carnal spirit of the olympics better than any other sport. just a bunch of folks stoked to be there cheering each other on cause the enemy isnt each other, the enemy is new impossible tricks
