Last up, while it may be rhetorically impactful, don't go telling medical folks you'd "rather die" than be treated on x ward. There will be bad faith actors out there who see that as their cue to get you sectioned for 'suicidality,' and you will then have no rights to decide on your own treatment.

Show PostHeartening as it is to see the hot words today and yesterday on the NHS ban, folks who would like to make a difference need to follow through. That means making it clear to the NHS now - not at point of going into hospital - that you will refuse treatment rather than be placed on the wrong ward.
