i think when we watch this game in 10 years it'll mostly just be funny. 28-3 was a little less inexcusable than this but it's lacquered in ten coats of dread. watching it now still feels uniquely awful

thinking about how machu and nyaan teaming up doing clan battle-style tactics to beat the rx-78-2 would have been a genuinely good emotional payoff at least. and the show cannot stick to it because basically it is not interested in giving these characters emotional payoff
