They do, certain ones will come running to me while being apprehensive about any other humans. I love feeding and watching them. It sucks when it starts to get cold and the go back to hibernating. If the weather stays warm, they'll stick around until about early to mid october.

When will people learn that animals aren't medicinal?
Show PostI bought an eastern box turtle from a pet store in 1989. I had him for 18 years before he died. There wasn't very good turtle care information back then. No matter how amazing turtles are, they should left alone to be wild. It's almost impossible to give them the life they deserve in captivity. 🐢

When I was a kid, I was given one of these as a pet. It was not until a few months ago that I learned that I probably should not have had him! And neither should the person who owned him before me. I loved that turtle dearly, but I am sorry about the circumstances.
