Anyone that knows me, knows that I really struggled with my time in University. I was too poor and was attending during a time when I was focused on caring for my mom. I missed a lot of class and had the grades that reflected that. I was suspended. I spent most of my adult life paying for it.

I had to join the Navy for a time and spent the last few years taking night/online community college to continue my education and improve my GPA. I finally got accepted as a transfer student; my number #1 pick. I'm so elated I've been sitting here crying with the weight of my past feeling lifted.

I don't regret taking care of my mom, not for a second. That's just how life works out. I wish I had the ability to balance both, but I think that's just expecting too much of my younger self. This one's for you mom.
