The FAIR Act is primarily a backlash to Initiative 83, which overwhelmingly approved ranked-choice voting and semi-open primaries in DC. I don't support every initiative that has been proposed in DC, but sabotaging the process for all initiatives and referenda is anti-democratic and anti-Home Rule.

As if getting a new job wasn’t enough, we ALSO just bought our first house in D.C. I’ve been to enough public meetings to know that, as a homeowner, my opinions about the city are now 10x more valid, right?? Jk, but we are thrilled to be staying in Shaw.

Manchurian candidate won twice in my opinion because of structural elements in a winner take all system. Ranked choice voting would help solve the problem.
