@jonesedu.bsky.socialEvery time I see stuff like this, it's back to the proposal I was working on because human beings are not reducible to parts no matter how much the tech & finance creeps want it to be so.
Show PostYes. This is not an answer. It is a resource that could provoke meaning to an individual. Is it a ‘good’ resource to do that? I would say only if it was used to initially help staff start the cognitive process of trying to externalise their own mental models within their own situations.
Show PostGet rid of "mental" models, step away from cognitivism, and we absolutely could collapse cognition with agency. Knowing is doing, and adequate knowing is what works in an environment.
Show PostThis is wild! How has teaching got cognition so wrong? You can't create a library of "mental models" that others can read. The knowledge isn't "in" those models. It's in the perceiving and acting (in an environment) of the designer of that model. Suffice to say, this is destined to fail.
Show PostI am not saying it is not worth trying, it most definitely is. But we should not equate one to the other. Because there is always ungraspable importance within the other. /4
