I always thought the ultimate goal of growing up was mastering things like humility, empathy, and critical thinking. They’re still important, but it turns out, an equally crucial life skill is just learning how to remain unbothered by people who refuse to do any of those things.

I have found over the years that I either have to choose art or choose survival. As I'm older, I have chosen survival. So, yes. My art is slow now. My art takes time to come out. It's sad. But I don't ever want to go back to begging for support. The fear was too much and damaged my mental health.

So, fun fact, I am a disabled, neurodivergent queer person. I work full time to support myself even though I probably shouldn't be working. I ironically teach and help prepare other disabled people how to re-enter the workforce. I still have to create my art on zero spoons outside of work.
