It's hard to get attention when people are focused on the midterms, but politics will continue after November. On the horizon: a federal bill addressing "organized retail crime" and another addressing "carjacking." Both of these would be disasters and give DHS more power.
Show PostThis is actually a pet issue of mine because it promotes absolute nothingburger takes that trick people into thinking there’s a deeper societal dynamic at play. The archetype is “teenaged Marxist Leninist was mean to David Brooks, civilization in decline” but it’s infected journalism at large.
Show PostLots of LBGTQ, especially T, have parents who cut them off. Or the parents put conditions on visits, like only if they can deadname the child or only if the child doesn't bring or mention their partner.

Show PostThe Wall Street Journal published readers' responses this weekend and the first comment captured my thoughts! Way more abused kids maintain contact that shouldn't so it's hard to believe that there is a significant problem with parents cut off for "no reason". www.wsj.com/lifestyle/re...
