appears that hegseth impulsively blurted this out to look tough, but had not discussed it with others prior, causing admin to scramble. he did not think through the consequences of livestreaming. these do not seem like good qualities for someone making war-related decisions.

In news that will surprise nobody who watched Trump's open embrace of Putin, Trump has waived the mandatory sanctions which were to be imposed by the Graham Act 30 days after signing. What a sadly predictable choice by him. I hope Americans do something about it in the Midterms.
