Ok I’m not done yelling about what I saw on YouTube yesterday re. an artist I had respect for openly using and praising LLM’s, talking of them almost as though they are some divine being with mystical powers. I’m not quite done, because a thought has crystallized which really summarizes how I feel
Show Postin the face of this. It’s that it is *so* depressing to watch an artist sacrifice their own creativity on the altar of AI, and then heap praise on it afterward for doing something that said artist is already capable of. And in a direct address to said artist, How much water did you poison?
Show PostHow much air did you pollute? How far have you accelerated us toward climate cataclysm by using something that is wholly unnecessary? Don’t even try to tell me AI is "just a tool" either. Miss me with that utter bullshit. Any and all respect I had for this artist has completely evaporated.
