Whatever concerns people *rightly* have about #cdrama beauty standards, I hope Tian Xiwei’s performance in #WhereTheMaskEnds doesn’t get reduced to discussion of her weight 🙏 The way she differentiates 2 characters - in temperament, expression & physicality - deserves recognition in its own right 👍

The #cdrama title 玉簟秋 comes from the first line of a famous lyric poem (or ci) by the iconic poet Li Qingzhao 李清昭. The line reads:- 紅藕香殘玉簟秋, meaning the lotus has lost its scent and the jade-like bamboo mat feels cool (implying autumn is here). It's about pining for a loved one. #TheLamentofAutumn
