I finished reading The Lord of the Rings last night (not including the appendices because come on). Really enjoyed it, and also really surprised at just how many changes Peter Jackson made for the movies. It's been on my reading list for 30 years, so good to finally get it done.

Who else is feeling completely overwrought? Listening to Dr Haines' husband and our Governor-General has at least helped me open the floodgates 😭. For a so-called intelligent species, humans and the systems we create are a complete bloody mess.
