Always reminds me of friends of mine in my 20s who had drugs/drinking problems who would tell you a million stories like “I wasn’t doing anything and everyone was so mean to me, everyone was being so real, they kicked me out of the party for no reason, idk why they kicked me out of the bar” etc etc

that lede almost gives the game away already because rarely when parents say "I asked if they want to marry this person" does it not mean "I hounded my kid because I don't like the person they're marrying and inserted myself into their life in an overbearing manner"
