As a foreign spectator, I can only say the reactions reveal a lot of western thought. I understand the disengagement from both users and collegues, but many responses are frightening parasocial. He's not "our" friend. Furthermore, people seem to forget about change and how private life works.

Jacob fucking sucks for this but just because you feel betrayed by someone you liked on the internet doesn’t entitle you to someone else’s privacy and I’m not talking about Jacob. The victim’s privacy is way more important than you having a better understanding of something you’re not a part of.
