Part of what’s so enticing about Shen Jiu to me is how Vague his past is. We don’t know how he ended up being trafficked, how he truly caught the eye of Wu Yanzi, even how he got his seat as head disciple and then peak lord. Everything’s so packed away… it leaves so much room to Make Shit Up.
