Whey powder has a much better balance of amino acids than pea protein on its own. Pea protein will—technically—supply you with a 'complete range' of amino acids, but is way too low in methionine, so ideally would be combined with grain protein, to compensate for that (on the rice and dal principle).

It's pretty much of a non-taste, IMO, and being fat-free, doesn't have that dairy slipperiness, IYKWIM. Add to hearty veg in a well-flavoured stock (cubes/pots are fine) and I doubt you'll really notice it.

Shakes are pre-mixed & refrigerated, only downside for us storage-wise but they can lie on their sides before opening (admit we've not tried that after). Happy to have reminded😁 We get both from Ocado. They have periodic multi buy offers, delivery & small order charge + availability worked around.

Unflavoured whey isolate is probably the easiest boost: 26g protein per 30g powder. Liquidise into home-made vegetable soup (if you liquidise, you can bung everything in to cook unchopped, for minimal effort) to give yourself a decent hit of easy-to-swallow protein/fibre/micronutrients/hydration? xx

They're very drinkable. The same texture as a thickish shake, along the lines of Alpro chocolate & definitely not as gloopy as Huel. There is a bit of an underlying "protein drink" taste, not unpleasant to us & perhaps wheat-like is the nearest descriptor coming to mind
