I think there needs to be a real appreciation for the flat affect Hudson has said he employed in order to do a true-to-life portrayal of autism that is atypical from what we see on TV/film, how he consciously limited his movements and stunted his emotions. Time Magazine even did a piece on it.1/2

How come a white man with mid acting is emmy worthy but a poc who greatly captured autism isn't? I have autism myself and for once I felt well represented just to have it labeled as bland makes me wonder if you put any effort in understanding the characters
