Well, it happened. One of the authors targeted by my impersonator paid them. I am so distraught. Please, please, please DO NOT PAY FOR INTERVIEWS. Full stop. If a "journalist" tells you you have to pay them, they're either a scammer or not someone you should be talking to anyway.

Sitting here in City Hall waiting on an interview with the mayor about what's happening with the police chief. Guess they scheduled me late in the day, because the Seattle Times just went up. Not like I've been working 12 hours a day on this or anything!

Earlier this week, my colleague Monica joked about being dead by the time light rail came to Ballard. I said "Well, I hope you're alive in 13 years." (Ballard's line was set to open in 2039). With today's news, I still don't think we'll be dead when it's finally built, but we might be a lot older.
