1938 first edition purchased for £3 this afternoon at Book Corner in Brampton.

Our recumbent gravestones, originally covering the graves of Strathclyde elites in the c. 9th - 11th centuries, feature crosses and beautiful interlace and knotwork. In later centuries locals reused them as their own tombstones, carving their initials in the already ancient stones. 📷 Dr Tom Horne
