Daughters room was horrific. Clothes, food, mugs etc strewn about. Told her she'd get mice. She didn't believe me. Went on Amazon and bought 100g of black rice, chucked a teaspoon in there when she was out. Much tidier now.

Sounds like my childhood. I didn't know the charts existed until I was 12. (1978). Radio 4 was always on. And I got taken to see The Spinners. Twice. Too ra loo ra loo. Etc. I got my own back by getting into punk/new wave.

Oh, I wish I was that lucky. Honestly, Live Aid was like Ground Zero for me, after that I started listening to the Top 40 on Sundays religiously and listened to pretty much anything I could.
Show PostOh God, the memories are flooding back now. Mum loves West End musicals so we got Cats, Chess, Starlight Express (some of that's actually OK), Buddy (same), Return To The Forbidden Planet (oh NO), basically any musical that was big in the '80s. I don't like musicals. It was a hard childhood.
