I once got backstage passes for the manager of a famous band because his kids were fans. Someone saw me do it & sneered “I love watching you work”, like I’d made some brilliant career move. It confused me for a long time. Kindness isn’t a fucking strategy! Just be nice! Dickheads

True, but it shouldn’t be a career strategy. Sometimes I wonder how often I’ve been perceived as having an ulterior motive when I do something nice & it makes me sad. That’s why I’ve decided to only be mean from now on. So take a hike, pal!
