Counter point--if you are Cardona you are getting off the grind of the indies, having to make your own bookings, work your own angles, do your own promotion, etc. After doing that for a while I can see the appeal of just turning your brain off and doing whatever WWE wants.

The thing I miss about early AEW is the feeling that shows were unpredictable. The indies were hot in a way they’re not now and it felt like anyone could show up at any time. Plus a lot of the shows just felt sillier in a good way, like Orange Cassidy just being in a bathroom during a street fight.

I wanna say the first time I saw PAC was at a 1PW show in 2006. Doncaster Dome. He was at a lot of those shows when I first started watching live wrestling and getting into the indies/TNA/ROH. Absolutely gutted. He was one of ours. Northern lad who made it all over the world. I can't believe it.
