Top academic journals are funny because the main paper is only a handful of pages, so you're like "oh that'll be easy to write," then you end up publishing a 50-page Supplemental Information document and writing 80 pages of replies to peer reviewer comments. Real tip-of-the-iceberg stuff!

On deep level these people are just rejecting society itself. They do not want to participate. They do not care how society has benefitted and continues to benefit them. They don't care what happens to anyway else.

For three + years, teachers, writers, artists, humanities professors and so many others have been arguing exactly this--that this technology only produces an endless ouroboros of bland, sad, grey slop. But we were told that we were/are luddites, reactionary, old-fashioned, angry, etc etc.
