This attitude is becoming weirdly common like the way people will post a screenshot of an actor playing a character and then the fictional character in its original appearance next to it, and they’ll be like “what a piece of shit this movie will be” The desire for everything to match is dull.

But plenty of those bad adaptations had actors who looked like the characters. Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy is great casting. The 90s Fantastic Four movie can be criticized for a lot of things, but not trying to resemble the comics isn’t one of them.
