Good article by Karl but SpaceX's Ohio BEAD take has gone up since Tom Reid did his report. It's now $67 million, not $52 million. 48% of OH's 83K BEAD locations are now being offered StarLink or nothing (with more to come in the new "supplemental" round, I'm sure).

The shortlist is the argument. "Community-owned" isn't sentiment — it's a different answer to who the network is accountable to when a line goes down in a valley with forty customers on it. Scale never fixed that part. Ownership does.
