The mud nest in the eaves collapsed. The 3 chicks fell, landing on a parasol beneath. My wife cleverly improvised with a hollow coconut shell and some gaffer tape secured to the top of a window near the old nest. It worked; the parents found them, fed them, and they all fledge.

I remember a stuffy lecturer getting bent out of shape when one of us undergrads held some up on the Fieldwork 101 course and said "Curious type of heather!" "It's. Not. Heather. It's. Ling." 🫣
