People would take more interest under Pro Rep. For eg, voter turnout is far lower under FPTP because people know their vote isn't going to result in their views represented in govt. It creates disinterest. In pro rep parties address far more voters, not only those at the boundary w/ the other party

I literally hate that you’re right. I still think it’s a dispicable tactic, but he is stating reality. My riding will go Con if we split and I it’s something to consider. Haven’t made up my mind and his public stance on this is not convincing for me.

The thing every NDPer and every constituent should be pushing them on relentlessly is Pro Rep. The NDP can't be fixed under FPTP. See UK Labour. The centrist/right-wing drift in these legacy labour parties is inevitable under FPTP due to its peculiar dynamics. Fix this, you fix many evils at once
