As a federalist, I'm quite baffled that even pro-federalist movements still lack the confidence and ambition for a truly sovereign and independent European Union. Operating outside the EU framework, or bringing on board third countries is the quickest recipe for disaster. Build the EU core first!

At some point, sovereignty must be defended. Otherwise it's a de facto US territory. As with most (wannabe) authoritarian leaders, the price goes up each time we appease them.
